A few weeks ago (nov 2024) I borrowed an old Polaroid Land 1000 from a friend (and photagrapher). I bought some 600 Polaroid film (SX-70 wasn't available at the time) and after some trial and mostly error I could not resist buying a second hand Polaroid Land 1000. Two actually, one of which has a flash. After that, I was hooked.
I now own four Polaroid camera's (the two Land 1000's, an Impulse AF and an Image 2) and both some 600 and SX-70 film. I love it, it's awesome.
Getting an old (or even new) camera is relatively cheap. I bought the two Land 1000's for €55. The Impulse AF was €45 and the Image 2 set me back €25 (which was expensive since you can't get new film for this camera). The film however is expensive: about €20 for a pack of eight shots. If you buy a non-autofocus (AF) Polaroid without flash, you're going to mess up a lot of film trying to get a good shot. And I like it, because it kind of forces you to really look at your shots, even the "failed" ones.
